shiitake info....anybody have?
    #3581011 -

hey all,
I'd like to learn more about the Shiitake mushroom. After reading a brief article about this mushroom, I find myself very interested about it's health factors for consumption. I never knew mushrooms could be so benifical for us, and for the rest of the world.
So if anybody would like to share please do. Even cultivation experaince would be great thx!

they grow slow but are easy to cultivate indoors and if the climate is right they grow good outside also. Your best bet is to go to the store and buy one or tear off some gills and germinate them on agar. Isolate it and inoc a oak saw dust/wheat bran block. Filter bags work great for this. Once colonized remove from bag and provide a humidity tent. you should be able to get alot of shit takes from that. Pick when young, like most wood lovers and punk kids they tend to get tough when mature.

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.
