these cuttings were both taken at the same time.

and

here's there big mama

she hasn't shown any growth since i had to chop her for the move last august, I'm a little worried.

A new strain can not be created by taking a cutting, because the cutting has the exact same genetics as the mother plant it was taken from. The cutting's small stature is probably a result of its growing conditions.

Hmm well I'm not exactly sure then, the smaller one may have just not developed as strong of a root system...but I assure you it's not a new strain....just an odd occurrence.

Give it high humidity untill some starter leaves grow under it.

Man i would never do that to my mother plant.

I'm not very experienced yet with growing salvia but that larger cutting is getting pretty leggy, wouldn't you have wanted to top it a bit earlier to get a more bushy and efficient canopy?

Yes, I should have pinched the top node much sooner. I just found out about that method of pruning a few months ago. After they reach a height of six inches is best. But i still think multiple shoots look interesting.
