I would suggest visiting a few of your local tattoo artists, ask to see their portfolio and if you like their style sit down and brainstorm on one together. Most tat artists I've known really try to develop a personal style and would call that opportunity a wet dream (probably will get a pretty good deal too).
Just a suggestion for any time your trying to choose on a new tat (never an easy decision)...

I have Irish in me sooo I would love something Celtic. I have a Celtic Cross with Knoting in it. So I do not want another cross on my back/neck. Any thing else celtic is awesome though. I want the knoting or design to mean something though. i.e. Strength / Power / Healing / etc. etc.

Where you at man? In Santa Barbara, CA there is this one lady/shop thats *supposed* to be the leader/innovator in celtic work in North America according to a few tat mags I've paged through. Can't think of the name at the moment but It'll come back to me
