fruity smell

I often get this contam that has a fruity smell. I think it's bacterial but I don't know what it is or how it occours. If anyone could help me out with this one I would be greatful.

Ha, I bet you have Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Is it on grain or agar [or fruits]?

Some of the others have an apple-type of fruity smell, P. aeruginosa is almost like grape bubble gum.

Of all the bacterial contams out there, this is one I would be a little mindful of. It's notorious for colonizing contact lenses and such, usually needs expensive drugs to treat. But it is only an opportunist, you have to DO something to get an infection from your jars.

You should try turning out the lights and shine a black light on the contam [if you have one]. . .my guess would be that it would NOT fluoresce, if it does it might be something else.

i THOROUGHLY clean jars in between uses and then steam them at 90 mins and i have about a 95% success... maybe 1 in every 20 jars or so

Man, i was hoping this wasn't a contam, oh well you win some you lose some i guess. I sprayed it with a lime/bleach solution in hopes that it might be possibly saved, any chance?

Afraid its a contam..I've had it with my oyster mushrooms..I don't grow the psilocybes,but I bet its the same contamination.
