Knew him in junior high and he deserves everything he has.

I watch him become what he is at Harpo's in Detroit.

Bob has worked very hard, much harder than 99% of the people in the world ever will.

He got what he has because he earned it. No one gave it to him.

He suffered in music for 15 years before anything outside East Detroit.


I say you are very wrong even though I never really liked his Jams

no doubt he worked for it. i dont like his music but his newer stuff jsut hit an all new low. stopping would be a noble next step in my opinion. or maybe he has? has he?

i respect him and all, but enough is enough.

I think once you have hit the top and become wealthy. The project becomes a experiment that just flows. It no longer any bearing on what will sell.

To create and release Albums without the restriction of what the public wants is true creative bliss

And the dream of all musicians

unfortunately it's not usually up to the artist, at least with bands that are signed to major record labels.

IF YOU ARE IN A BAND DON'T BELIEVE THAT

I can tell you that is a myth and at the same time true.

Anyone with balls enough to play for free and play anywhere they can set up will get the fans to force a record deal.

I for one will never by into that. Bands that are determined to make it make it.

Do you know anything about The David Mathews Band?  Fine example of what I am talking about.

While it is true that some Bands are hand picked. Any band that just thinks they will never make it because they didn't get hand picked might as well say they never played. Because they never really did.


With anything in life it is the BALLS and determination that dictated your success. Not some greedy executive. You and your band are the machine that will stamp out your path. Make the lable beg for you to sign. Great people get great treatment, same with a great band :grin:

Whenever someone shows mockery towards any successful musician, I'm always tempted to ask them:
Are you up on the stage rocking it and raking in the millions?
Think you can do what he/she does better than him/her?
Who's the one 'living large' and having the life-long party with 'riches and bitches'?

hehe no im not nor do i have the desire to.  i wasnt saying i dont like him, but his music took a turn.  but i totaly see where fucknuckle is coming from, and i do agree.  which isnt very often :grin:

Hey Fucknuckle, I totally agree with you. Kid rock has worked his ass off to get were he is, plus hes a rediculously talented musician. Its not entirely apparant from his music, but the guy is proficient in like 15 instruments. Everyone that preaches all this seelout bullshit is nuts. Given the opportunity I wil do the same, in either painting or music. Just because you do one thing to make money doesnt meen that you cant do your real work on the side. If I can make money doing what I love, even if I have to compromise a bit, Im goin for it balls out. Just my take.
