Crazy folks

After a visit to the crazy house, it puts things in perspective to how lucky you are to have a somewhat stable mind. In my younger years i battled with depression. These are just descriptions of some of the people i met in verious mental health facilities.

I roomed with a hardcore pathological liar. He'd say the most outragouse shit with a straight face.
Him-"I'm a 10th level warlock, of the counsil of witches, and wizards." my billionair girlfriends parents tried to have me exiled in mexico, but i put a spell on them"
He spouted this shit all night every night for months, without once giving any indication that he didn't believe what he was saying.


than there was my homeboy A.J. from Australia. He said he ate something like 13 hits of acid every day for a year. So every once in a while he wouldn't eat his lunch because people were trying to poison him, and he told stories about the mexican mafia trying to asassinate him.

than there was this kid named corey. He just walked circles around the nurses station all day every day, speachless. And no women were allowed on the unit because as soon as he saw a women (who wasn't his mother) he would try to beat them.
Than oneday, this other kid was crying about something, and corey sat down next to him, put his arm around him, and said "it'll be alright man" after months of not speaking.

Another roomate named randle had gotten in a car accident 4 years before, and remembered nothing of his previous life. He was told that before the accident he had been a heroin-dealer/addict, and had gotten in the accident during a high-speed chase with the police.

Interesting stories.  I've been inpatient at mental health centers twice.  The first was in an adolescent ward, the second in an adult ward after I was 18.  Let me tell you, most of the teens in the young persons ward were just stupid and over-dramatic.  The only thing wrong with them is that they had too much time on their hands. 

The adult ward was completely different.  There, people were honestly suffering, desperately trying to pull themselves out of wherever they were inside.  It was really sad and made me feel even worse because I felt like I didn't have a right to be there with my paltry problems. 

I always wonder what happened to some of those people.  :rolleyes:
