Yellow crap
    #335568 - 06/05/01 08:40 PM (24 years, 1 month ago)

I innoculated five days ago into 12 1/2 pint jars. I used Ramsey Seal, BRF and Vermiculite. I pressure cooked for one hour. Anyway, six of the jars have a strange yellow stain right where I squirted with the syringe. There is also a bad smell comming from the jars. Should I trash the jars with yellow stains or should i wait. The other jars seem ok. What should I do?

My personal opinion is they're dead. Bad smells only come from BAD things. Sorry.

Keep at it though.:)

True, they might be gone, but I wouldnt toss them yet.It dont hurt to kep them a little while.Just put them somewhere else and forget about them for a week.By that time youwill be able to tell for sure, and if there bad toss them,if not then do whatever.
