Wow, that is definitely a nice plant! What sort of setup, or atmosphere does it have for growing? One of these days i'll order a couple of cuttings and give it a go.

Nice bushy plant you have there for how tall it is. Mine grows up but doesn't seem to get too many big leaves. I'm going to have to put it under lights soon as every other winter it has turned into a stick and I've only just managed to revive it in spring.

Anyone know of a vendor that has salvia rooted clones in stock? I've checked iamshaman, basementshaman and bouncingbear but they either don't carry live plants or are out of stock for the season.

Lookin good bro, you gotta love that silky sheen of Salvia D leaves. Its looking pretty bushy already but if you want it to bush up even more you can give the tips where the tiny new leaves come out a squeeze and it will start to branch up from the nodes. :smile:

Thanks for the compliments everyone, as for the setup, I started with a lame setup like this:

Then I payed 40$ and made this setup here: (notice the humidity box for my cuttings at the bottom right)

But I had that setup in my room and it was effecting my sleeping once I had alot of plants, I became a zombie during the day and could not figure out why, so I started opening the window during the night and I felt uber good, so I assumed it was the plants.

This is my current setup, all my plants were chopped up and put outside to survive except for a few, I kept the best looking outdoor one for next years outdoor crop (picture is a little old):


Humidity is normal, temp is normal, there is 4 lights in the setup, one soft one and one normal per side. I water them once a week maybe, I never mist them at all, maybe once a month if that.

The humidity tents were on special for about 12$ canadian each :laugh:, Im going to get another 2 lights for the top part of the wooden setup, should be nice after that.

The high oxygen with all thos plants in your room must have thrown you off.

Whats the deal with plants and oxygen and co2? I've heard that they exhale/emit co2 during the day and emit oxygen at night. Is htis right? do they get the precursors for both of those from nutes in the soil?

anyone have a link to explain how a plant works?

The leaves emit oxygen in the day and night, more so in the day, but the roots put out co2 and use O2. Take a bio course and you'll understand everyting.

Yeah it was quite a crappy experience, I could not figure out why it was heppening, I was under the impression that they gave out oxygen all the time, but I found out later that it was not so.

huh? so they also give out co2? but wouldn't they reabsorb that to photosynthesise?

err.. either way i figured it shouldn't be that big a deal for yer state of mind rihgt? I mean we have plenty of oxygen and co2 everywhere u go, im not sure how that changes the way u feel.. but wtf do i know?

thats true, but my room was small, maybe 12 feet by 12 feet and closed off so no other air could circulate so it was not good.

It really effected my sleep, I felt like a zombie for a few months during the day, did not know what was real or fake sometimes, it was just really bad because i was not getting any sleep or soemthing.
