Vicks or not to vicks

Ok this is one concern I have been having.
In a martha setup do you have to have the vicks AND a cool mist??
I noticed that the Vicks says cool mist humidifier on the box.
So could I just use two cool mist humidifiers??
Or is there something special about the vicks one that makes it a must have for the martha?

both of my humidifiers are vicks brand. One is a coolmist and the other is an ultrasonic, the kind that you can see fog coming out of. You want to run the coolmist 24/7, which will give you good air exchange, but wont keep the humidity high enough even for casings. You want to use the ultrasonic with a timer. Youll have to fiddle with the timing to get the humidity to stay constant, but it shouldnt take more than a day of playing with it. If you leave it on all the time your stuff will get drenched, I currently go for 30 mins on and around 3 off. keeps me around 90% RH. Hope this answers your question. by the way, even the ultrasonic sats cool mist on it.

Im still confused as to do I need the vicks or not??
Can I get just two cool mists humidifiers??
I already have an ultrasonic humidifier(the fog kind)
so should I just get a cool mist or does it have to be the vicks??

from what I hear you the kind of cool mist that has the spinning disk and rod inside and not the wicking kind. That is the ones that have some sort of filter inside that draws the water up. Any one with spinning disk is good, the cheap $20 vicks one has a filter for the air intake which is nice.
