humidifying my martha
    #3971628 - 03/26/05 08:46 AM (11 years, 8 months ago)

I'm running a 30"w 60"t 22"d martha setup with a coolmist. Yesterday I got a ultrasonic to go along due to low RH. My ultrasonic is a really small, just a little personal humidifier. Well, I had them both on (via tubes going from outside to in) and my humidity was barely geting to 80 and 85. Well, I put the little ultrasonic inside and now it will stay at a perfect 92% for my casings. Is this bad to have the humidifier INSIDE. And is it normal for RH to be this low? I guess because the martha is somewhat big. Oh, and do ultrasonics act somewhat like super fine misting?

Thats not right. You should be getting plenty of humidity from a coolmist and ultrasonic hooked up on hoses.

What size hoses are you using?

Do you have the ultrasonic on a timer?

Yea. More like a fog. A fog of humidity.

I have an ultrasonic, very nice humidity.
I keep it inside a smaller chamber than yours, no problems.
I have more problems messing with tubes.
(just picked it clean)

Sometimes, instead of misting,
I hold the humidifier directly onto the casing, it works great.

well I got 2 different responses but I'll go with the second one (no offense), but my humidifier is tiny and it's working great now, the fog rises right into the stream from the cool mist and circulates around the chamber  and about the misting with the humidifier... do you flip it upside down? I figured water would pour out... I'll try it away from my casings

hold it on it's side, pointing at the casing.

FYI, I use sterile water in it.

turn it off, refill it, and turn it back on.

the humidifier works now, but not if I tilt it... so I just ghetto rigged a U shaped tube to blow the fog on to the casings when they need some... it seems like a real good idea... this fog is pretty hard to hurt the mycelium or fruits right?

it's softer than misting.

direct on the casing? not often, the humidifier does a great job as is. I did it once or twice after leaving it off while I was in vacation
