Blueing on mycelium

this is the first time this has happened to me, jars are between 30 and 90 % colonized, on the ones that are allmost done there is some blueing starting in small areas. whats up?

Chances are, you are 'jarring' your jars when you are handling them(have you shaken them?)...if it is obviously blue, it is damaged mycelium. You should be ok tho...just quit messing with them. At least you know you've got the goods inside...

ive read that blueing is usually due to dry substrate, maybe thats it? also could be bruised, have you droped the jars or anything that could cause bruising? and sometimes mycelium just has a blue tint to it...

You are right, Trips, but if the right mixture of water was added to the substrate and was not subjected to dry heat, this doesn't usually occur during incubation.
