weird thing

I'm not sure if anyone else is getting this..

I'm using firefox (the latest version) and every once in a while (since the update).. I will open a thread and it automatically tries to close my browser.. but I have a thing that asks me first when there are multiple tabs open so I can catch it..

so the occassional thread will try to close my browser.. and just recently noticed that sometimes clicking on "first post" or "last post" on the quick reply thing will do the same thing. It doesn't happen just once either, I will cancel it and it will keep coming back until I either move to a different page (thread, forum, whatever) or close the browser.

anyone else had this poblem?

Extremely bizarre. If I had to guess I'd say you've got some adware lurking on your computer. Do you use a program like Spy Sweeper or Ad Aware?

yeah.. I don't think it's spyware.. there's adaware and spysweeper and spybot on this computer.. hmm.. I'll run them again..

Hmmm, sounds like you're on top of it. I don't even have 3 spyware scanners heh.

I'm just really stumped. There's no way for a page to close your windows without using Javascript, and there (shouldn't be) a way for users to embed HTML in their posts. Does it always happen in the same threads? If so could you give me a link to one of them the next time it happens?

The only other possibility I can think of is something like a popup blocker gone awry, but if you use Firefox's built-in blocker I just can't see that happening. Maybe do a clean reinstall of the browser?

Anyway I'm sorry for the inconvenience, I'll keep looking into things that could be causing this on our end but it does seem kind of isolated at the moment.
