verm or coir/verm?

What advantages does a coir/verm casing mix have compared to just ordinary verm? Wouldn't it just be easier to use verm by itself?
Does it matter how coarse the verm is? Please let me know.

coir is more nutritious, whether that is more advantagous or not is probably opinion, i find it colonizes faster with healthier myc
it is also easier to tell when a coir layer is dry by color alone

vermiculite is just to hold water, no nutes in verm.  coco coir has nutes and a verm/coir casing will colonize faster and grow bigger fruits.  edit: coco coir doesn't contain nutes :smile:

vermiculite with lots of valleys/holes is jjust fine. plus, casing layers should be non nutritious, so that they do not contaminate.

I was under the impression that coir is excellent for casings because it *lacks* nutrients. Shouldnt the casing be nutrient-free so that the mycellium doesnt grow, and instead fruits? That is why verm is used as a casing, it isnt nutritious. I could be wrong, but this is what i understand from the basic teks.

How you gonna post on this site about your obvious grow, and then state some garbage claiming you have no idea whats goin on? Im not hatin on anyone in particular. I just think its funny that people think that their little 'disclaimers' would actually prevent legal action being takin if deemed necessary. Or am i just missing the point...

Casing materials should contain NO nutrients whatsoever. It should be sterilzed fully.

Coir works just like verm as it holds water.
My understanding is people use coir because it makes it easier to tell if the water
content is right.
At least thats why i used it.
There may be other reasons but i have fallen in love Peat therefor i only use that now.
