ive read diff thing on this should i pack my sub. or not pack it down im using 1/2 pint jars with verm and brf

Don't pack. You need that airspace for growth.

if you already injected, just leave them and hope for the best. if you haven't injected... do what seethe said, empty them out and do another batch. not that hard, really.

if it's packed, there's less air space... you want an airy, fluffy texture so the mycelium has an easier time growing.

Packing means longer colonization time.Experiment,mark your jars and see the diferance.

I've found a slight "tamp" to be beneficial to cakes. I fill and give it a slight tamp down on a hotpad before adding the top verm layer. This #1 gets rid of most air pockets which actually hastens colonization times just like packing straw does in a sense, as we all know you want to pack straw as tight as possible and here we do not just a slight "tamp" works just fine and is even part of the PFTek. GL guys

I used to give them a small sideway tamp. Like moving the jar left and right in a fast succession a few times.
