? about pinning, need help

I a cake about 3 days ago, and I noticed a couple little pins today. They seem to be growing along side the cake instead of away from it. and one is king of fat. what would be causing this, too much humidity maybe. I'm using a tall square tupperware container, that's kept air tight, and i've been fanning often, about 4 or 5 times a day. And does anyone know PF's e-mail address.

so is that normal, they're not supposed to grow along side the cake are they.
