My mom used to make them for us using browned ground hamburger, a half and half mixture of ketchup and mustard and a sprinkle or brown sugar. Damns now I'm hungry.

was never really fed sloppy joes. though i've had em and have to say i like em, though i'd probably go for a sloppy chilli burger over a regular 'joe cause i like the spiciness.

okay I went the lazy man way lastnight and used the manwhich stuff

1 lb burger browned
1 can manwhich sauce
1 bag potato buns

The buns made the joes - they are way bigger than normal and are nice and squishy.

Sloppy J's are pretty tasty and very cheap

However, if they ever came out with Pusswhich, it would be less shameful but more desperate. I'd rather be desperate and eating Pusswhich than shameful and eating Manwhich.

No WAY...

Manwich invented the sloppy joe.. Without it we would not be having this discussion.

I have tried to make sloppy joes with them powdered packets and from scratch but NOTHING is as good as Manwich..

Sometimes, you cant improve on an already perfect thing.

hmm guess I posted this in the wrong thread..

2 tablespoons butter
1 pound ground chuck
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons mustard
1 1/2 teaspoons vinegar
1/2 cup tomato sauce (or ketchup)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
some brown sugar

melt butter in saucepan.. add beef, onions, garlic, salt, and pepper. saute until brown.. add vinegar and the rest of the ingredients. simmer for 15-20 minutes, serve on toasted buns. Mmmmmm.....
