4 Pound Hamburger!?!?
    #2075258 - 11/06/03 12:09 AM (13 years, 7 months ago)

They just opened a silly little sports bar down the road, which had me completely uninterested. But yesterday, they posted up a sign..."KELLY'S BLEACHERS: HOME OF THE 4-POUND HAMBURGER"

Now, the way I see it, this is nearly completely impossible. Unless it is some manner of mutated radioactive burger. However, in the name of science, I shall go tomorrow and try this 4-Pound Burger. If I didnt think it was kind of fucking wierd, I'd take a picture, too.

Maybe it is 4 lbs before they cook it and it's 30 percent fat.

Just a thought.

Maybe they use really heavy bread.. or stick onion rings on top of it.

That sounds like a digestive nightmare.

My sister's ex-husband Chris,  used to be able to eat an four pound hamburger at Rosies Diner I believe was the name, in the greater Los Angeles areas maybe late '80s early 90's.  Anyways, the thing cost like $40 or something but they gave it to you free if you could eat it in under an hour - as well as a T-shirt and your pic on the wall.

Turns out Chris could do it and did it multiple times over.  He had his pick up on the wall along with a drawerfull of T-shirts

Rosies went out of business the following year

hey madtown,
we have 2 kelly's bleachers bars in milwaukee. Ive tried the 4# burger at the one close to Miller Park. Its like $18 but if you finish it and the fries you get it free and your pic on the wall. My friends bought it for me on my birthday a few years ago and i came closer to finishing it than anyone thought i could, including the waitress. Still, its a fuckin chore and I would expect your colon to explode the next day trying to pass that much beef through the system at once....

Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield, PA offers a 3 and 6 pound burger. If you can finish the 3 pounder in 90 minutes, you get a t-shirt, certificate, and your name on a plaque on the wall in the restaurant. As far as I know, no one has been able to conquer the 6 pound burger yet. There's a 3 hour time limit for that monster.

shit..6 pounds? They should get that Japanese guy.. you know.. the guy that weighs 130 pounds and ate 50 hot dogs with buns in 12 minutes. Breaking the US record of 26.. I think he was in that horrible Glutton Bowl too.. he ate 53 cow brains each weighing 1/3 lb. Takeru Kobayashi..that's his name.

I saw him training. Man.. that guy can eat. He measures his stomach before and after and it grew 5 inches full of food. Of course it just goes right through him.. he said it's all about the zen..mind over matter..or something... 6 pounds of beef for that guy would be the appetizer.

The Glutton Bowl was awesome, just for the fact of watching someone eat pounds of butter straight...And tubs of mayonaise, too.

I would hate to have to cook a 4 lb burger in the middle of a dinner rush, would kinda jam up the works.
