You're right GGreatOne, those are some ugly mushrooms. But like they say "beauty is only skin deep", and since the magic's on the inside, I guess they don't actually look that bad.

Found these last year.
Interesting find.. it was like the mushrooms caught a cold.
They were sick and brittle and had mold on them.

:)
Keep shroomin,
GG

This cube here was something else..

Look at that stem! :)
Look at the bluing around the edge of the cap..

This picture had been posted here a couple years back,
Much smaller picture back then compared to this size.
Lizard King told me not to eat it.

This shroom, was seriously seriously potent.
I didnt eat it, but to smell this thing blew me away, very potent.

The base of the stem had another little pin growing from it, and a big glob of extra mushroom tissue..

Guess you could still dry 'em & they'd be OK. Actually the first shrooms I ever had (Texas 1972) were even grosser 'cause they'd been in a plastic baggie in a warm car for 6 hours. Looked like a bag of slimy blue-green frog guts, but the other guys were downing theirs, so I let the whole slippery mess slide down my throat & gulped lemonade after it. Glad I did, despite a little queasiness at first the high was great.

Awesome bluing! Was all that bluing from handling the mushroom or was it found that blue? Just curious.

Hey there woodsman, the cubes in the first picture were actually covered with a fuzzy grey mold, the gills were covered with it.. Rarely do wild cubes ever become, "sick" like this.. the caps were dry and brittle, very unhealthy.

I wouldnt eat them.. I dont think many would.. espcially when there are hundreds of perfectly healthy ones growing in the same field to find.

"too gross to eat" is a dumb word, oh well thats me, terribly brainfried.

I should have entitled this topic;
"Brain dead, and made of Money,,, no future at all."
heheh :)

Sup doo,

I took that picture just a few seconds after picking, so yeah I guess it must have already been blue when i found it, , in fact, I definately should have bioassayed that thing, the stem is just incredible looking.

I also remember the gills themself were even bluing in some spots(not something you would normally see).. to the gills with Psilocybin

I can usually tell how potent a cube might be by just smelling under the gills.. that particular mushroom was just So potent smelling, and the Lizard King told me it was a bad mushroom and not to eat it because it was a bad mushroom. Then the mjshroomer jumped in and said yeah thats a bad mushroom you dont want to eat that thing. He says he only picks the buttons and babies and pinners.

Mushroom gone bad?
-you be the judge.

Hey GGreatOne,
I don't think I would have eaten 'em either. But I'm sure it was tempting with all that bluing.
It's still a helluva cool looking mushroom though.

I don't ever remember that pic,or telling you not to eat that mushroom, but I'm sure I did. Thats me, a stoner with a terrible memory :) Or at least a selective memory, sometimes I can recall things that happen when I was 4-5yrs old.

Anyway, I'd have to stick with what I said two years ago and advise against consumption, especially if the gills had mold growing on them(I've seen that before with weilii) but if I really wanted to trip and that was all I could find in the field, I'd probably snip the cap off and munch that stem. I've eaten worse.

It had to be used as an attachment, but I got it, I know I sound wrong, but that's probably becuase I am, I didn't wait long enough to see if it wasn't, the kind of city I come from, that long to wait for your legs to jam and you'd better hurry, you have to get away from the robbers before someone else tries/wants to rob you, I stole your idea for an attachment, I don't have a scanner so I don't think I'll be able to get a photograph on the computer the way you guys do! Hurry, to see, if anyplace else, it has mushrooms, that place will have to have the wild Cubensis.
