I couldn't find the dehydrated cow manure yet...I might use worm castings, but I would like to try several things out.

I wonder- Should I innoculate the substrate and then case it when it is colonized? Or should I put the subsrate and 50/50+ together, in layers all at once?

AFOAF always lets the grain run throughout the bulk substrate before casing. This way you can keep an eye out for contams and reduce the risk of it spreading from case to case unnoticed. Dont forget that it would probibly be a good idea to cover your substrate with foil or saran with just a few holes allowing it to breathe, and keep it someplace clean untill it's time to case, then re-apply the saran/foil untill time to initate pinning. If I'm wrong about any of this, someone please correct me. peace
