Once long ago I tried to dry some mushrooms using the method you described (suspended inside the damprid container) and it was a terrible failure. After a week, the mushies were still wet, but were covered in green and blue mold. The next time I just put them on a table in front of a fan and they dried overnight. Please don't repeat my mistake!

I recommend eating them wet. They taste just like button mushrooms, and are easier on the stomache. If you put them in the fridge, put them in a paper bag and not a plastic bag, as it traps in moisture and leads to rot.

air dry for 1-2 days under a fan in a dry room then damp rid them if you dont eat em then while there still soft.

The damp rid isnt for drying the mushrooms but geting them cracker dry. Unless of cours you have a high damp rid to mushroom ratio and recharge it after drying every small batch. So airdrying is more practical.

yea, what that guy is talking about, how his shrooms got mold, he probably didnt air dry first. just air dry 1 day, then put em in that container till they are cracker dry. the damp rid will suck out every last bit of water out of those little bastards, then you are good to go. just make sure they are very dry, cracker dry, and break when you bend em.
