    #3000588 - 08/13/04 12:08 PM (19 years, 8 months ago)

unfortunately english is not my mother language so i dont understand how should i make a terrarium work with an air pump. My terrarium is a big rubbermaid container with (not very) wet perlite on the bottom. i just bought this air pump:

how should i install this thing in my terrarium? please use simple words so i can understand:)

plug in air pump make sure tubes that go into the terrarium do not let any air escape and make your set up so the air will go through the tubes with good flow and into the pump as easily as possible for you. good luck.

well my air pump has only one tube. so i just make a hole on the terarrium and put through the whole the tube? that's all? if i'll do this how the do we have air exchange? the tube only blows air. it doesnt take back air.

i hope u understood what i mean

you need a bubble stone/wand to put in the chamber.

One of the best damn airstones you will ever buy! And it's flexible! It goes under your perlite/hydroton if using that. There should also be enough water in the bottom of your chamber to create decent wicking moisture 1-2in. but not more than half the depth of the perlite/hydroton. GL
Almost the same as BiOTeks!

hello Felix, the bottle of water was IN the tarrarium? on the perlite?

And your air pump had 2 tubes? because mine has only one!

i've had a few different setups over time, along with different kinds of pumps. my favorite pump had 2 tubes, but that didn't make it better.

i set the bottle in the terrarium on the perlite, but if it gets to humid you can take the diffuser out of the water.

ok get it,thanks. whats the difference if you put a diffuser with the setup with no diffuser?
and if i'll make this setup, won't there be the need to fan at all?

I assume this air pump isn't filtered or encased in a hepa box, so put a couple drops of iodine in that jar to keep contams from growing.
