San Francisco.  Went out for short lunch walk and found a few cyans.

Bugs or slugs had their way with one of them.

They are out there but probably in the best micro climates.

If previous El Niño seasons are any indication this season could be a banger!!!  Happy hunting everyone.

It’s my early bird spot close to where they first found me.  Also happens to be in my neighborhood.  Found in the first 5 mins of the “hunt”.  For me that solid white stem is the assurance.  Goes from it could be to it definitely is at first grab.  I left a pin.  I’m certain there are others.  We got some sky juice so I bet things kick off nicely.  I got a good feeling about this season.

A few more wavy caps near the same place as the others.  And some shaggy parasols from Golden Gate Park.

Overall not a lot going on but they can be found.  Micro climates are the name of the game.

Getting off to an early start in Sacramento too. Only one small area of a known patch has any activity at the moment. Hopefully it’s a good season, good luck out there!

Man I checked if this thread was up yet, and of course I'm already behind.

Hoping to find the newly-minted Ps. aquamarina this season, but not very hopeful with my luck. I have the opposite of instincts for these things, I couldn't find hay in a haystack.

If anyone needs me for the next 4 months I'll be continuously fruitlessly checking the 2 spots I found by blind chance last year, like the dog checking the magic pie bush.

Do you use "shaggy parasol" to refer to Coprinus? I usually heard it for Chlorophyllum, and "shaggy mane" for these

I thought these were Chlorophyllum species.  Did I get wrong?  I haven’t been back so I haven’t seen them open.
