My life is better knowing that your carvings are out there. Giving eyes to felled wood. Life to the dead. So that life may witness itself.

Latest doodle for the living room. We tripped really hard on a festival and I had this half idea for something I wanted to make. It's not finished yet, but 90% done. Maybe I'll make a larger, more measured / balanced version out of MDF (so I can machine saw it) for parties. A friend can map it and make it move with the beamer.
Should have used better paint but eh.

(120*40*.8 cm plywood)

Amazing. Friendly and engaging, just like the best substances. Your art is lovely, Churp.

Map, as in projection mapping? Like visual arts? :awepixletrippin:

Very cool. Colors are nice. Good vibe.  Did you also make the mushroom sculpture hanging near?

You've got a great touch for only being a month in :whoah:  If you find yourself addicted, i feel like you'll develop your own personal style over time, and it will be absolutely incredible. Some serious potential there.

Thankee for dropping in :hatsoff: Some really inspiring stuff. Please post any time!

Thank you! Please share anything and everything. It's good for you and it's good for us, too.

YouTube and Etsy were great places for me to find inspiration. Of course nothing beats hands-on cause and effect experience, just sitting with it and letting wrinkles form in your brain.

Interesting things to consider:
  • Gravity
  • Wicking properties of fabric
  • Harmonic patterns with the shape of the body
  • Flow that is ergonomic with natural eye movement, whatever that means to you (ex: we read left to right)
  • Visual weight
  • Skin tone
  • Dye concentrations (ex: light light on the dye powder for pastel colors in liquid dye)

If you see anything on Etsy or wherever, and you want to dissect how it's made but aren't quite sure, post it here and we'll try to figure it out. I love a good puzzle like that.

Love it.

I really like the green and black one halfway down.

They're all super groovy.  but the first one especially and some of the others kind of have a "fish scaly" look if that makes any sense.

I can honestly say I've never seen or had this reaction to tie dye before.:hatsoff:
