-snip!- because I know there's a lot of passion and energy in the cultivation forum, and people should be able to feel proud of that community without needing to address or disavow an unrelated part of the site targeting a different audience. I've updated the option in display preferences to "View forums, avatars, and signatures containing adult content?" and when it's off (which is the default for new users), OTD is disabled. That means no trace in the forum interface, and if a user somehow follows a link to an OTD thread, they'll get an "access denied" error.

It seems like a reasonable solution to me, and more importantly it was really quick to code. :yesnod:

Yeah I don't know why people are catching strays out here.
I am fine with being banned so that this change could happen.

I think you just have to go unjoin and then that supersedes the ban. But don't quote me I just work here.

I look forward to seeing how far people will bend over backwards now in an effort to get upset by OTD.

I loved getting upset in OTD. Nobody ever managed to make that happen, but I really wanted it to.

It's not a place to get mad at. It just makes you disappointed.

There's a setting in your profile where you can say that you're OK with seeing inappropriate stuff and posts and forums. That's what it's hidden behind. If you already had unchecked that then you're gonna see it.

I see it, it says forums, pics etc. So I guess it's not really hidden that much.

Nope
I'd say the majority of people never really fiddle around with those settings though.

Yeah, the change was made to an existing setting but it wasn't efficiently communicated to everyone so they all jumped to conclusions and overreacted. Mystikal banned himself for a month because he just assumed that he got banned for supporting Genny.

It's a deeply emotional time for some of us.
