I took 50mg modafinil at 8am because i had major sleep deprivation now I'm worried I won't sleep tonight, but it worked for making me feel awake and not like shit on a few hours sleep

That's not too bad then

I work M-F and always go back and forth over whether I preferred working jobs with split days off or not. I love my weekends but it was pretty nice not having to do 5 days straight every week, and having weekdays off to either do fun stuff or get things done with less people around

I do way less hiking, snowboarding etc., avoid some stores now because I don't want to deal with the weekend crowds

It is nice not working five straight days, though I only work four days a week now, which is a bummer because I do not make as much and my hours were cut to avoid paying overtime since I usually work nine-hour days.

No, I get about 35 hours and miss the overtime pay. I am looking for other work, but I have a criminal record, so it is hard. I need a 401k with a company match to make it. I have a Roth IRA, but I need both since I only started saving a few years ago. I am 41, so it is a very late start.

That sucks, seems like so many places have started giving less than 40 to full timers

41 is later than ideal but I've read that more than 1/3 of people over 40 have $0 saved, and a lot more have very little put away. Definitely great that you're focusing on it now, 25 years is lots of time to save and put yourself in a way better spot than most people

I am still hopeful that I can save enough to retire comfortably. I applied for Section 8 housing, so when I get that, my rent will be about 30% of my income, meaning I should have no trouble getting by.

I work 6 or 7 days usually and have no retirement savings.  My retirement plan is to work like a dog until I can become an exploitative capitalist pig but I only started my business a few years ago so also a very late start

That's a bummer, you could put few hundred a year into a roth IRA and that would be something.

God, I hate it when that happens.  Used to do it a lot more when I had a phone w/o a physical keyboard.  My thick-ass fingers and the utter failure that is the very concept of a touchscreen keyboard just do not gel.

Also, I crave more baked purple potatoes.  But, I must refrain.

Nobody is interested in the uncircumcised truth anymore. We just keep hacking away around the edges, and we’ve been doing it for so long that truth is now a tiny, little nubbin; a shell of its former self.

I was expressing all of this to an acquaintance who replied that I need to read Jesus Christ’s autobiography The Holy Bible. So I did. It’s supposedly straight from the horse’s mouth, but I suspect it’s embellished and possibly ghost written. Decent enough rags to riches story, in any case. A lot of the X-Men movies were inspired by it.

I also read the Steve Jobs’ autobiography on the recommendation of a coworker. He lent me his copy. I think it might be one of the only books he owns. The great philosper Jean-Paul Sartre didn’t see the point in a personal library either. He said that once you read a book, there was no reason to keep it lying around. He never read them twice.

(I got an Easter egg while trying to type this shit. Bullet holes every time I touched my screen. Felt like a personal attack.)
