Ah hope you get well soon.

Viruses suck. I had glandular in 2021 it fucked me and gave me chronic fatigue. Kicked off a whole bunch of bullshit that culminated in unemployment and bad relationships. Probably part of the reason me and my ex broke up.

Just look after yourself. That shit can get real
Sorry I'm not trying to jinx you or anything just wanted to vent about dumb viruses

Thanks, I think it was a combination of being sick and just super worn out from some recent travel and a lot going on. Starting to feel better today though :robindance:

Nice one Jon.

I had a good first day at my job. It seems super cruisy, like honestly the kinda jobs people dream up lol.

Apparently I'm getting paid for the public holiday in a few weeks too (which is strange because I'm not on contracted days so they don't usually pay you then, but I think it's because if they put me on the weekend to cover my contracted hours they don't have anyone who can train me so I'm basically a liability walking around trying not to fuck patients up lol)

Nice, a job you like seems pretty rare these days

I like mine well enough but applied for some other ones recently, and holy hell they treat their employees like horseshit. And these are skilled clinical positions... but the salaries, time off, 401k match etc. keep going down year to year while the workloads keep increasing

So fucked up. You guys have it so much harder than us (I am assuming you are US). We have so many things protected by awards here.

Just look after yourself. If healthcare isn't gonna look after you you don't have to look after them.

Today's going good I've been looking for work that offers a 401k with company match maybe I should wait till I try to get my criminal record expunged if I can even get it all expunged.

Have you looked at city or state jobs at all if retirement funds are a priority? I make decent money but my cousin who makes like half of what I do as a middle school janitor will probably be better off in retirement than I will due to the pension.

You'd likely need the record expunged first though for anything city or state

Nice Jon! I hope it goes well

I'm doing good too. I'm waiting at doctors who is running late and I wanna buy presale tickets so I think she might call me in when resale starts. I think I'll pretend I'm on a big call and then I'll make her wait a little lol (she's 45 mins late, which is ok I know how it is with general practice but also I want my tickets haha)

Can't you get a pardon yet dawg? Here it is 5 years after you complete your sentence to become eligible. I'm still waiting for it as I was on probation forever. Couple more years.

I think I can get them all expunged but not sure. Atleast a few of them, I got 5. To get them expunged instead of sealed the waiting period is 13 years(atleast for the felony), it's been 14. But I gotta save for a lawyer too.

I would be on that as soon as I am eligible. It's embarrassing having a readily available record. Here anyone can look it up for free. You know housing and employment are looking at it even if they say they aren't.

That frustrates me, that process. There are some crimes that are required for society safety to be listed, permanently, one I can think of being child abuse. But in regards to other crimes I am unsure of the benefit for it being a permanent record. In my experience things that are not illegal can be as harmful and as much a sign of a person being a menace to society, and that stuff doesnt even get on a record.

I was talking about this topic just last night with my friend.

I hope you get it expunged Jon and Mystikal. Of course I only know you from what I've read on here, but you both seem to be decent people.

I recently got in a car accident.  I dropped my car off at a body shop to get a new bumper after hooking my bumper on a post backing out of a driveway on a Spark order.  :frown:  Got an Uber to the Budget place to pick up a rental and head home then...  Nothing.  I woke up in the Helicopter being airlifted from one Hospital to another Hospital in Portland.

From what I was told.  One car was waiting to turn, and got rear-ended and pushed into my oncoming lane.  I hit them going 60 mph head on.  The at fault driver had to be taken to the hospital.  I was taken to the hospital, then airlifted to Portland.  The driver that got rear-ended was dead at the scene.

Once I came to enough to talk to the Hospital staff, they informed me that I had a dislocated fracture in my right foot, a fracture in my left foot, a fracture in my right thumb, and I had hit my head and had a traumatic brain injury!

The right foot needed surgery which was taken care of 2 weeks ago, and is non weight bearing.  My left foot is weight bearing, but I still wear a post op shoe.  My right thumb is in a brace that I wear to immobilize it.  Its just a tiny fracture and didn't need surgery.  All my cognitive tests were stellar.  I have no issues with my brain that are noticable.  Got the staples out while still at the hospital.  But, I am in a wheelchair and can't walk or drive.

Since, I've moved to an Skilled Nursing Facility where I am doing really well.  I have my follow up appt for my two feet Tues the 15th.  I get a Boot for the right foot then, and they are gonna make sure my left foot is healing ok.  I have a follow up for my right thumb the 21st.

My family, who I was kinda out of touch with for a while came to the hospital and were very supportive, caring, and helpful.  This wake up call has got me rethinking a lot of things.  I feel very grateful that I didn't hit my head harder.  I'm feeling intense gratitude for my family flying to Portland while I was in the hospital to be there for me!  My little sister was super proactive in helping get all my appointments squared away, and my dad is working with an attorney to take care of the legal side of things.

My dad agreed to drive from western Montana to pick me up the end of this week and take me home.  He and his girlfriend were able to pick up my car at the body shop and get it back to my house.  Awesome!  He is then going to stay in town to get me to my appts and back.  I live out on the coast, my appts are in the Portland area.

Feelin Blessed.

My insurance did issue a non-pay order for any time at the SNF after the 13th, but I was able to appeal.  I just got word this morning that the ruling on the appeal was in my favor.  That buys me more time here until my father can pick me up!

Ready to be home getting used to getting around in a wheelchair for the next 6 weeks, or possibly a knee scooter depending on how much I can use my right hand.

Love you shroomery!
