American politics are SO DUMB:

Republican voters think the Democratic party is a powerful Communist party that is going to force the precious billionaires that they worship to give them healthcare, and import a zillion brown people from Middle-Eastestan tomorrow! Democratic politicians are the EVIL ENEMY AT THE GATES, toiling away, tirelessly, day after day, enacting their COMMERNIZMMM!!!

In reality, Republican (Far right fringe nutter party) and Democratic (Center-right nutter party) politicians are on the same team, and their real enemy is progressives.

Case and point:

Isn't it wonderful to finally see Democrats and Republicans work together to resolve something that deeply bothers them?

The relentless attacks that both "left" and right wing media have made against Hasan Piker, as if denouncing a progressive youtuber is the REAL purity test for Democratic candidates... It's just so gross.. But the truth is, as far as Democratic party leadership is concerned, that IS the purity test, and if the people insist on progressive politics, then they will just have to throw another election to the Fascist fringe seig heiler's...

Democratic party leadership really have shown their fucking ass at this point. They act like a bunch of wannabe, cheesy ass "mean girls".

You play the identify political game that colleges push for the last 40 years as democrats party you win identify politics prizes. That's where the purity test has destroyed them.
All the right has to do is say no . Much simpler purity stance.

Democrats play to incrementalism.

Progressives play to working class policies.

The working people just need pain relief and nothing else. Only drugs can give people what they need.

Are we still talking about the video, where Woke 2.0 sings about assassination?

Charlie kirk actually agreed that the US shouldn't attack Iran. He talked about that a lot.

In terms of being anti-prison, though...

And, I was asking how you would deal with public figures who are criminals in your worldview...

War with other countries begs a question about how an anti-jail  movement deals with public figures who would be war criminals.

Also, how would the DSA deal with Luigi, with Nick Shirley, with Kirk's assassin, and with people who thought it was funny? Broadly, with harassment?

sudly said:
Why did you bring up Derek Chauvin if not as racist bait?

Hes not some rival of DSA, hes the guy who  killed a black man by choking him to death in the street with his knee.

It's popular to the point of no one ever being able to breathe as soon as they are being touched.

How does the DSA intend to deal with civil rights abuses, as pacifists?

sudly said:
Naming names for who you think "the left" wants to send to prison isnt libel, and i doubt anyone you name will see it here and consider it harassment.

 Don't say anything that sounds like committing to commit a crime, imho, if it feels iffy or is getting heated.

I am only trying to point out what I feel is an inconsistency their platform.

I do think shrooms in a therapeutic setting would cure a whole lot.

But universal healthcare would be a plus in the US too.

The video was hillary clinton talking about dialogue opportunities.

No one running has an abolish prison policy.

There's a difference between a platform and what an individual runs on.

Trumps a public figures with felonies, so think about that.

A working judicial system isn't going to be removed, due process and all.

I think youre just making up a platform at this point.

Quote:
DSA Political Platform

For all of the working class to achieve collective liberation we must constrain, diminish, and abolish the carceral forces of the state — from prisons and police themselves, to their manifestations in all forms throughout society.

You are referring to the 'long march' through the institutions vs. accelerationism. The DSA platform at large and it's vanguard are absolutely anti-prison, in their own words. Woke 1.0 was effectively working towards the same ends in baby steps but is being goaded by upandcomers.

You cant name anyone who actually runs on that.

Prison and police reform are fine.

And abolishing ICE and remaking the way immigration is enforced is fine.

Its made up to say anyone running right now is secretly going to abolish prisons.

:shoedick: Dissembling is a resistance tactic. You can just look up DSAUSA endorsements if you want to know who stands for what.

Aside from being the most radical and least centrist of Woke 1.0, I'm going to characterize this fresh batch of radicals as new nobodies who came out of nowhere.  Most of the old names, which we were used to, aren't radical-enough to counter the whitelash.
