Only land owners.

:bigyesnod:

So me and all of the people that rent wouldn't have a voice and only the wealthiest people who are able to afford to own property would be able to have control over the country we live in?
You're wrong.

We don't need another oligarchy.

Rentoids too while we are at it, black rock should get extra votes, maybe one extra vote for every 5 properties

What kind of bullshit strawman comment is that? Ignore everything I've been saying and twist it into some form of oppression?

They should be able too, but it could be abused if it works like.he says, here's one example I can make up

Bob is homeless, he didn't vote or care about politics

Jake is a crazy conservative who thinks trump.won 3 elections, he knows Bob won't vote, Jake votes twice, once as himself, once as bob

Thank you. You don't have to be republican or anti-voting rights or consume any alt-right propaganda to read through CA's voting laws, click through the registration form, and form a rational opinion that it's not secure.

Well, time to nut up and demonstrate the flaw. Go vote and see what happens.

If you think you've discovered a massive exploit yet there's no good evidence to point a towards, the most likely explanation is that you are missing information or don't understand the info you already have.

I'm ready to receive the missing information or your alternative explanation.

"Current through 2006?"
"But they have to verify the signature before counting a ballot right?"
"Surely this paragraph about provisional ballots getting verified applies!"

Nope nope nope. You obviously can see the potential for fraud, dude. Just accept that you don't have any evidence to refute that. It shouldn't be hard to do the math and figure there's virtually nothing stopping someone, and no way to definitively know who is abusing the loopholes or how much.

If you're so confident that there's no dishonesty or fraud happening, then it shouldn't be a big deal to add photo ID checks. It should be worth it if only to disarm the right's very credible claims that fraud could be happening.

At two minutes a graph is shown, depicting % share of votes between LA mayor candidates in their recent primary. This is post election, tracking the mail-in ballots that apparently took seven days to count.

The video cites studies that say mail-in voting isn't actually preferred by one political party, even though it seems to benefit democrats. But in this case, a large number of last minute voters were democrat. The stranger part is the last minute mail-in dem votes were specifically mostly for the trailing dem candidate that found 40k votes to knock out the republican.

And stealing someone's vote seems completely possible. If I know a person that is registered and voted federally before and where they live, I could use that information to get a ballot since they wouldn't be required to show ID. Sure you have to sign the book, but they're not doing real-time signature verification, so that ballot is getting counted.

As far as I can tell provisional ballots get put in special envelopes until the signature can be matched to the one on the registration. They get counted after.

This is true. In fact, I recall recieving something in the mail, telling me my signature didnt match up to my reg sig, and that my ballot hadn't been counted, I believe with a means of resolving the situation... but that was some years ago. The memory is haizy...

Look, this is the meme thread so I really shouldn't have even followed up but it was just a clarifying question.  For several posts you've seemed pretty upset that homeless people with no address can vote so it seemed reasonable to infer that you don't think homeless people should be able to vote. Nevertheless, I didn't want to assume anything so I just asked you directly.

I did notice that you didn't give a direct answer...

Then we wouldn't be a democracy at all. We would be an oligarchy. What a disgusting opinion.

That's exactly how white people talked about emancipated slaves.

I was just reading about the 3/5ths rule a couple of days ago.  Prior to the civil war it gave Virginia the greatest number of representatives in congress while having one of the lowest populations of eligible voters.  So yeah, oligarchs.

Anyway, here’s a meme

What makes you say that? I don't think she's trolling anyone. She's a racist/bigot, who doesn't believe in equal human rights for all people, what makes you think she isn't also prejudiced against poor people?

It certainly tracks.
