finna go check the caeru spot now! i really hate to harvest these things but i really hate to see them just disappeared also, and since it doesnt seem like they all print all the time im worried about ruining their cycle if none of them happen to get there spores out. also, does anyone know if any other species have that weilii taste? because tampanensis taste identical to it, and i wonder if thats distinct between the two species or do like ovoids taste the same as caerulescens too? i know theres some kind of non active shelf mushroom grows on the wood that smells like them too

6 you've got me wanting to learn how to hunt for those. I bet they're more common than we've thought thus far. I feel like people used to think ovoids were rare and now we're finding them all over.

I normally dose in the 6-7g range of potent dried cubes or 4.5g of dried p.cyans.
What would be an equivalent aim for caerulescens?
Or tamps were i ever to hit the lottery?

What I finally scrounged up smells quite different, honestly can't wait to give em a go, but don't wanna shortchange myself either.
Hoping this week will bring some of those bottle cap monsters🧐

Till then:tipofthecap:

Couple of angles of the same cluster. I like the one pic better but couldn't see that it's three.

Did a doubletake on this lil guy. Thought about finding a way to time stamp it in some way. I decided that the mimosa bloom next to it was good enough. Gotta love Georgia actives.

We shall see :anticipation:

06/26

It’s getting hot and the soil is starting to dry out.  I’ll be back checking spots after the next round of heavy rain.

Was in town for few days last week. Timing wasn't the best. Seems a week or two earlier would've been perfect.

i was thinking on it (and sometimes i may be a little bit slow on the uptake) but i realised "duh!". theyre popping up right where there dare i say, be constant dying grass mateys!:hook:  or maybe it could be the opposite and its where the new grass is trying to grow but failing, so its a constant supply of fresh new grass? its shaded by a tree which has some roots popping above the surface, has leaf litter some kind of smaller maple?

Man those are some beautiful mushies. I went out in the hall this week after some of our rain showers. Didnt see any of the droids I was looking for. I have hunted these things off and on for over a decade. At this point I don't think I ever will. Thank God for cultivation. Frustrated that they are around me tho.
