Hunters and trappers unite!

Anyone else on the Shroomery hunt?

I hunt deer, grouse, and waterfowl. I haven't been out for waterfowl in a few years but deer hunt annually. Got a 8 point buck last season. Really looking forward to this coming season.

I’ve been tasked with trapping as many rabbits and snakes on the property as I can. I have a bunch of cage traps for the rabbits so that shouldn’t be too bad. The snakes seem like they’ll be quite challenging.

Yeah I've got the bag and grabber combo for collecting them when I cross paths with them. There are a ton of abandoned prairie dog holes that they will post up in that I could probably rig with some sort of snare or something.

What kind of snakes you got there? The most dangerous around me is the massasauga rattle snakes. Otherwise just garder snakes, water snakes, fox snakes and eastern hognose.

We get Prairie Rattlesnakes primarily. We used to get a lot of bullsnakes that would keep the rattlers in check but there don't seem to have as much of presence on this new property.

One of our dogs got bit a week ago so now we're taking extreme measures to get the population under control.

Mercifully no, she survived and has made a full recovery but it put the fear of God in her owner.

No doubt. Glad she's doing good!

I knew a guy who was showing off to a couple girls and he picked up a rattlesnake and it swung down and smoked his leg. He had to goto ER and get anti venom. Fuckin dumbass.
