FTW! Man that sounds absolutely amazing.

I also have to agree with cookiecrumbs that the good ole hotdog is right up near the top of my list.

Though a 2 inch thick boneless ribeye rubbed with olive oil, coarse kosher salt and black pepper is my favorite.

Nothing gets closer to caveman food than steak on a stick!

If I'm on a multi-day trip and away from town for a few days, keeping fresh meat for a while is tricky. I like to slice a half pork loin into pork chops and cook them on the first day. I sprinkle Montreal Steak Seasoning on both sides and cook them until the chops are resistant to the touch, but still springy.

Reheated pork chops dry out quickly thought. I take the extra chops, dice them into cubes and put them in a ziploc bag in the cooler with a can or two of Rotel mixed in. The acid and fluid in the tomatoes softens the chops. The next day, I make up a batch of black bean pork chili on a grill over the fire. To thicken the chili, a few minutes before I take it off the fire, I mix in a can of refried black beans. It makes a really tasty and high protein chili that will heat up again well the next day if needed.

I go camping on some farm property I have and sometime I eat at a restaurant thats in the closest town because they have a fire steak sandwich for $6. Im almost always eating fungus before so the trip is kicking in when I'm driving back.

Nothing like meat/mushroom farts during the end of the trip while trying to sleep in the tent

Chili and potatoes. (also had some chicken legs on the grill too but I just wanted to heat them up enough to not have raw chicken in my cooler.)
And some hot tea of course.

Was very worried about my no red meat diet when it came to camp food but I find I don't miss it. My newer low fat diet is a little more of a pita but it's not hard to work around that too.

Seasoning my friends. Seasoning is the key.
Good cooking utensils too.

I love cool season camping though. Hot food and a good fire are always well appreciated on a cool night.
