Could you describe these in a little more detail? The first photo is the better of the two but the colors are WAY off on my monitor (your hand looks purple!)

I'm guessing some species of Lepiota from the shape of the cap and the umbo ("bump") in the middle. L. lutea is one of the most common greenhouse & houseplant species, but those are lemon-yellow in color. Many related species probably like similar habitats.

Of course you have enough sense not to eat these, but I will mention anyway that several small species in the genus Lepiota contain dangerous poisons. Pretty little mushrooms, just enjoy looking at them!

wierd that the colors would be that far off.

they are white with a brownish purplish base to the stem...but the stem is whiter towards the top... the dots you see on the top are brown.

Definitely looks like Lepiota species. Most are POISONOUS, beware, and wash your hands!

I have seen Lepiota growing in peat based composts with Strelizia (bird of paradise) and Datura plants.
