Every time I access my PM's I have numerous new messages but am not alerted to them when browsing the forums.

This is starting to get on my nerves!

Interesting.
Are you using a firewall?
Try to disable it then send yourself a message and see what happens.

I'm using firefox, anonymous proxy servers and a firewall Anno.

I've only noticed the problem today and have tried the process of illimination and still get the same problem even when none of them are running!

The problem seems to have resolved itself today.

I don't know what could have caused it either. Thanks for the advice anyway.

I've been having the same problem... same browser
it appears to be a bug with firefox, are you
leaving a browser window open for extended periods

I leave my PC running for days at a time and often leave windows open.

I thought it was a proxy problem but, yes, I agree, it's a bug in firefox.. I'm using version 0.9.2

It's been happening again over the past few hours..
