Worth noting thats in a neighbours unkempt garden, it sprung back up after being squished under a skip for a few seasons. In the wild I see big hefties an all but I've no pics.

Ok, but if the sap's running, then isn't it kinda sorta almost spring?

We're not all the way done with winter where I'm at, either, but it's still a darn sight more hospitable than things were a month ago.

Not everyone can live in "oh, it stopped drizzling, I guess it's spring" land lol

Yeah it is almost Spring, but we still have over a foot of snow on the ground. May still get more snow next week, too. I’m strangely fine with Winter in January and February, but once we get a few 40 degree days I’m aching to get my fingers and plants in the soil. Oh well, May will be here soon enough.

After a very fun weekend, I had to share this with you guys! Our close friends made these for us on their laser printer. They not only glow in black light, but after being UV charged they glow in the dark!

Let's trade no takebacksies.  Climate change has fucking wrecked winter where I live, it didn't even snow once this year.  Mostly in the 50s-60s when it should have been 30s.  I would do very bad things to be able to sit in a lawn chair in the snow reducing some sap for syrup and sugar.  I can feel how crisp that is like I am there right now, and I can smell the syrup.

Thanks for the reminder though, these big leaf maples are probably flowing right now and if I were smart I'd dig out my taps and hotel pans.  Big leaf maple has a spicier syrup than sugar maples, I'm not sure which type I like more but I enjoy the variety.
