Who's watching the new fallout show?
I'm really enjoying it.

I have these close friends that are a couple that are diehard fallout fans (the online game). I think my mother enjoys the show.....I haven't really messed with either so I cant have an opinion yet 💀

The show is fantastic because the content it is based off of is amazing.
Start with fallout four. I don't mess with 76 because it requires an online subscription.
New Vegas was a lot of fun but if you've never played any of the content it's looking a little dated.

It looked dated in 2010 but I don't think the graphics are what people love about the Fallout games. I was real happy with the opening of season 2. That support group scene was hilarious. I can't wait to see what shenanigans they get up to this season. And next season!

The set with the dinosaur. That's perfect.
That was one of my favorite missions in new Vegas.

They're hitting a really nice balance with the fan service and not getting bogged down in the typical video game adaptation pitfalls. I personally think the dialogue about the NV canon ending is pretty dumb.

fallout 76 doesn't require an online subscription. there is a seasonal pass that gives bonuses though.

It does if you are on console.

This scene from S1E02 gave me absolute confidence in the showrunners to pull off this adaptation.

Dr. Wilzig: I’m not going to make it.

Lucy MacLean: Listen, I don’t know who you are or how you know the things that you do, but you are going to get across that wasteland. And we’re gonna do it together. Okay? That’s a promise.

Dr. Wilzig: No, you see, I’ve just taken a cyanide pill.

Lucy MacLean: What?

Dr. Wilzig: Vault-Tec Plan D. It was the most humane product that Vault-Tec ever made. It was quick, painless. Tasted like banana. I was surprised it wasn’t more popular.

Without any context I will just say that certain classical songs that come on the radio unlock PTSD from how good a time I had playing fallout 4.

I was very happy with what the death claw looks like.
It's about perfect actually.

I remember when my character was going through withdrawals. The brotherhood of steel wanted me to go on a flyby overall of Boston.

With all the fighting going on down there if my character looked at it too hard they would go into a time dilation psychedelic nightmare state where time would slow down to 1/100 the amount it was supposed to be. Leaving me in a perpetual hell trapped flying above a death claw ripping a super mutant in half forever.

There's a certain drug called jet.
My character had never really used it before then but I needed to be high on jet for the entire ride.
Was a hell of a thing. I threw a little day tripper on top just to soften the edges.

It's really growing on me a lot. Easily one of my favorite game franchises. I didn't read this thread to avoid spoilers, but will come back after I watch the new episode tonight.

Honestly, the only character I don't like is the main protagonist - I liked the actress in Yellowjackets, but I find her just sort of annoying in this (although I suppose she is kind of supposed to be). The rest of the show and actors are good enough for me to overlook.

It's because they're leaning into that cornbread God-fearing vibe.
That's the whole experiment that her vault was based on. So of course she's going to be a little obnoxious compared to us who have to deal with lying assholes almost every day.
:lolsy:
She's a trooper though. I think she'll acclimate.

Also out of respect for anyone who hadn't watched the show yet. I have refused to put down any hard spoiler.

I just like to reminisce about my time I spent out in the wasteland on a couple of these posts.
