So my buddy has cavities!
    #2899640 - 07/17/04 11:28 AM (19 years, 8 months ago)

This kid I know just found out he has about 6 cavities. For some god awful reason he thinks that if he brushes his teeth twice a day from now on that they will just go away. I tried reasoning with him that teeth just don't work like that but he keeps going on and on about how I am so wrong. It is really starting to get annoying too. Anybody else here ever know people who think they are always right? Man, he used to be so cool too. Now all this fuck does is talk about how he is and always has been right about everything. What a f|_|ck up!

Does anybody here know if he is right or wrong about the teeth thing? I told him the only way was to get the cavities filled, but he thinks they will just heal on their own. Jesus, this thing has gotten out of control. HEEEEEEEEEEELP!

I've had 23 cavities filled within the past year and a half. They don't go away unless you get them filled, they get worse if you don't. The End.

hahahaha...that's funny...of course teeth aren't that way...enamle is the hardest substance in the body...once that wears away from the acid and bacterica you get a cavity...and if he let's it go...eventually he will expose the material underneath the enamle which is much softer...he then will get an abscess (puss formation or an infection) till it hits the nerve...

ask him that if that is true...that they continue to grow and it will heal it self...how come your teeth stay the same size and don't grow during your adult life...cause if they did, like fingernails do, you'd have to file them down all the time...also, if a tooth breaks, why do they give you a fake tooth instead of letting it just grow back...

A guy I used to supervise...never brushed his teeth...chewed all the time...it was disgusting...and he had a cavity he didn't know about it...and the acid and all that from the tobacco destroyed the tooth from the inside out and the tooth eventually expoloded...yes exploded...he went to go get it replaced and they ended up screwing a fake tooth into his jaw....

Teeth, unlike other organs of the human body, can't heal themselves. A dentist must make the repairs.

what a DUH!

Tell your buddy not to make the mistake I did.  My teeth never hurt and they looked fine so I didn't go to the dentist for over a decade.  Now I am in my mid 30s and just in the past 3 months I have had 2 root-canals, 3 crowns, and 6 cavities filled....and that is just on the right side (from the 'canines' back, 10 teeth total)!!!

Even with insurance I have put out $2500 of my own money!  And I still have the left side and the fronts (inscisors) to deal with!  So take my word for it....a little preventative work will save your ass in the future!

And tell your moronic buddy that teeth don't repair themselves.  Once you have a cavity it will only grow bigger.  Getting a filling is a lot easier then wating until you need a root-canal and a crown done on the tooth!

it depends on a lot of shit...sometimes, dentists just screw you over and you dont even need work done on you, next thing you know you have 8 cavities that need to be filled....oh, but it doesnt stop just there!  The cavities that they drilled and filled are too deep, and they need root canals now....all in a six months time! is it possible? yes, likely? hell no!
arrggggghhhhh!
ok, im done ranting...

I average 2 cavities per trip to the dentist

it is my hope, that soon all my teeth will be filled that it wouldnt be possible for me to get another cavity

I brush about once a day
