That's what he was saying.  No licensing requirements to run a medical practice.  Just let the market sort the good doctors from the charlatans.

Hmm... If things really worked like that, there wouldn't be any chiropractors in the world..

Some MD's are honorary, low IQ, and can barely fill out a prescription. Normality has it's benefits. Please don't mistake me for a nihilist.

In the bad parts of Mexico, there is something worse, and they make fun of it. Fully qualified doctors from the Communist bloc.

There are also far-out people, occasionally with modern equipment, that everyone is allowed to buy, and they get better prognoses than state actors in the formal system.

Imagine if a medical failure really pissed them off. Hypothetically.

They won't question the color of authority, irl. Like cult members who have given too much.

What if the community at large held a doctor liable for a medical treatment with a bad outcome.

If it is his fault, and he did something wrong... he is held accountable.

Alot of these 'Cadillac plans' have recalled treatments. Patients believe that they are high status and really earned something.

Man, if you want a quick and dirty way of explaining why nothing ever changes for the better in this country, that really does it.
Why can't we get rid of oil? Well everyone is invested in it.  Why can't we build more housing? Well property values would go down. Bleh.

It depends what he means. I mean, you can sue a doctor, if they fuck up and you are injured as a result... but if there are known risks, and you accept them as part of treatment, then it isn't on the doctor.

So, they are merely human (especially at the teaching hospital)(like barber college) and should not put the fear of God in patients.

I didn’t get a single coherent answer out of that candidate.
My favorite was when he was asked about the opioid crisis.

Then he started fumbling for words and ended up bringing up COVID-19.

Donald Trump lost this debate. Even with Joe Biden looking as old as he could. He managed to answer all of those questions coherently.
