⚡️Albino Trinity⚡️ * 3
    #27948555 -

This is my first time working with Albino Trinity. It was gifted to me in the form of a grain jar, by a friend who got it gifted to him on a plate. Spawned on August 31st. This about 4 days after the first pins showed up.
Popcorn for the grain. For the sub I used a mix of 4qts coco/ 4qts verm/ 1 qt of Bu's Blend composted manure.
Spawned with no casing or pseudo-casing(although I do use psuedo-casings too) and went straight to fruit. No colonization. I open and fan my tubs once a day and mist the sides/lid if they're dry and I mist the sub only if it's looks really dry

You don't need to fan, most likely why you're having to mist the sides as well.

Could also try adding a top layer at spawn if you wanted

I Know a lot of people don't fan but it has always performed better for me when I do. And its true you can dial in the tubs so you can basically ignore them but in my experience more fresh air and humidity is always better. I don't really end having to mist very often even with fanning every day.
Now that may not be true for most, but everyone has a different climate/environmental factors to deal with so I just do what works better for me in my current situation

I'm glad fanning is mostly a thing of the past. I've cracked so many tub lids using them to fan. It sounds like you have a good understanding of dialing in and keep a good microclimate but if you are finding better performance when you fan maybe try putting a fan in the room pointing away from the tubs on low to increase passive FAE. If it doesn't improve performance then you can just go back to doing what you were already doing but it it does then hey you've just automated one more step in your process.

I have my tubs in a 5x10 grow tent and I do keep a fan in there but it goes on and off on a timer. Being that it is a tight space, its a fine line between getting good passive fae and drying out the tubs. Also the tent itself seems to accumulate high levels of co2 being that is a small space crammed with tubs so the fanning helps in that way as well. And I really dont mind doing it, it only takes a few minutes once a day. You really cannot have too much fresh air exchange as long as you can keep high humidity levels

Fanning your tubs is not beneficial for growing mushrooms. Fact. Thats simple, do it if it makes you feel better though

I have to say, I started getting much better results once I caught on to the dial 'em in, no fan/no misting regimen that's all the rage these days. That said, there's no point in arguing with success.

Everybody's environment and circumstances are unique, so there really is no one "correct" technique. Only the one that works for you. And that's about the only "fact" I've found in my admittedly limited experience.

So I'd encourage you to stick with what works for you until it doesn't

Your environment doesnt change how mycelium breathe (similar to us), they benefit from passive fresh air exchange.

If you were in a tub would you rather have a bunch of holes in the tub for fresh air, or have no holes and someone fan you for a minute once a day?

You are correct when you point out that mycelia of a particular cubensis strain have the same requirements no matter where they are located geographically. However, insisting that one method of providing those requirements will work as well in Phoenix Arizona as it would in Miami, Florida or Broken Pelvis, Montana is a bit parochial.

Since I am extremely unlikely to take up residence in a tub and my physiology is quite different from any known fungi, I think my preferences in such a circumstance are irrelevant.

Im not saying that at all. Adjustments are required baised on circumstance. What I am saying is that fanning once a day does not increase passive air exchange which is what cubensis benefit from.

As pins are forming, the myc is doing an intricate dance. Fanning can only fuck that up, IMO.

Gotcha. I think we can definitely agree on that.

If I was in a tub I would want all the fish air I could get and I think both would be absolutely great

I've only gotten better pin sets from fanning, and i usually get full canopies with no room to squeeze in a another fruit. Also,it's never fucked the pinning in any way whatsoever compared to tubs I didn't fan. Its about keeping the humidity up

If you can keep the humidity around 90% you can have all the fresh air amd it won't hurt anything

They do benefit from it though, in certain environments.  I have seen it side by side compared with not fanning and there is a difference,  for my situation.  And yes I used isolates for these experiments.  That my mother be t h e case for everyone but my setup benefits from it well

I'm not saying people need to or even should do this. I am saying what works for me in my current situation after almost 2 decades of trial and error
