Taking A Morel Spore Print

Does this look correct? I am using :
-bottom- paper plate
-spore print card- red piece of paper
-cover- glass
-top "spongey" part of a large Morel mushroom
Here's the pic:



Anything I can do to improve this?

Ok today I looked at the red paper, and there is white dust, along with a few bugs, lol. So are these the spores?

Oh, and I'm not gonna grow these, I'm just seeing if I can take a print from it. And I'm not a kid, I'm an infant. Have a great day!! :smile: :smile: :smile:

A dunk in salt water will kill the nasties.

The spores are light creamy brown so it sounds like you got your print!

A better way to do a morel print is to suspend it upside down by the stem over a petri or paper, since morels are normaly wild picked sterility isnt going to be an issue, you already know the status

Well, I would like to try growing morel indoor, think of it as an experiment... Id like to get my hands on a print from anyone who thinks they are worthy, so I can isolate a strain and CALL IT ULTRAMOREL! or Demorelization!

I've heard that Morel spores "shoot" out of the mushroom.Do you see anything on the inside of the glass that you covered with?

!!Bad!!, today when I looked at it there was goo all around it, the whole place where the glass surrounded was covered in goo. It was a thick gel type thing, and the Morel was very soggy? What happened? And it bled through the red paper and the paper plate. Need !! :smile: :smile: :smile:
