From time to time we get people asking about edible spore prints. Whlle this guy, FMRC, sells spore prints of all kinds of basidios, even some poisonous ones. This is by far the most diverse collection of spore prints I have ever seen. Maybe everyone already knows about it, but it is the first time I have seen it so I just wanted to share.

Guys - 1) BlueLou your prints were here all week - no one opened so not routed to me. I shoulda neva doubted ya..... 2) You guys do realise that those aren't whole prints from FMRC right? They are gauranteed 10,000+ spores (a cut from a print - not a whole print) I just didn't want you to be surprised or trip - Stephen Peele is the curator there and a pretty serious guy with a serious pile of knowing. And a mushroom (Peele's Lepiota) But sometimes people freak when they are used to getting the whole thing from a trader and then they get one of those tiny papers from the larger banks..... 3) That said, I think all samples are $10 ea. right now regardless of listed price.

"It's not the size that counts" <-- works for spore prints, can't really say that for other stuff ;-)

Agreed - but sometimes newer tech's find a few extra spores handy for re-do's. Do you remember a place called Micro-Tech or have you ever heard of them? "itsy bitsy, teeny tiny - print!" I got started with whole prints and the first time I got one of those cuts I thought it was a scam. (was a noob...) But the school gets those all the time and they go to the library. There's an amanita muscaria in there and a cantharellus cibarius (?) that I saw from the myco-mags.
