I'm sneezy, got a runny nose and mild headache. Started taking my Quercetin that I've been holding in reserve for such an occasion.

It's Quercetin and Bromelain, actually. Bromelain seems to be more of a symptom suppressor (if it, in fact, does anything at all), which I'm generally wary of in treating infections. Symptoms are usually the result of things your body is doing to fight an infection. But it's what I got, so I'm taking it.

Do you have any purple cone flower/echinacea growing near you?

That is a plant we havn't talked about that stimulates the immune system. Used by the natives for centuries.

Super hardy perrenial that also has really nice flowers, and attracts a multitude of wildlife.


I harvested a giant bag of Coneflower ( OG Echinacea) seeds off my plants this year. It's a fail proof plant and drought tolerant IMO.







Want to know what's interesting? I got Bromelain and Papain natural extracts on sale at Kroger for cheap. They do wonders for the gut. Didin't know about that other use.

I've seen some churches posting on fb that they're not having services today because of the expectation of snow. Other than that, I dunno. Haven't been out except for going to the dump yesterday.

It's January, so nothing is growing near me except the winter wheat/rye I planted last October. I tried growing some coneflower a couple years ago, but none of it germinated.

I used to like Popeye but looking back now its like wtf. I liked how he got really strong from eating spinach cans but I'm pretty sure that guy was a violent alcoholic. :nonono:

Ah yeah.

Echinacea tea is used to super boost the immune system but it's not a daily supplement. It's on an as needed basis( from what I understand)


And the good part about it is that it's the roots that are used, so even in winter you can dig them and make teas.( although the best time to dig them is in the fall, after flowering but before the cold. ( but it still has medicine in it now, even in the snow)

The seeds take a long time to germinate,( like 2 weeks sometimes) and it's one of the lowest percent rate I've seen. Like maybe 50% germination.


What I do is take thousands of them and sow them really close( super thick) in pots, and whatever sprouts I then divide later, and plant at the community gardens and pretty much everywhere I can/give them away.


It's definitely one to try and get in your arsenal. The neat thing is I ordered some seeds off E-gay like 15 years ago and have been growing and propagating it ever since- not only by seed but root division.



Echinacea demand spiked because of covid of course.

4 of my close neighbors have a runny nose, suffering from itchy throat, headache and fever for 2 days now, one of em is 78 yrs old woman together with her 81 yrs old husband, We frequently check them, the old folks are alone while isolating.

My store is having an "have one extra" sale, if you buy any of a long list of goods at the regular price, you get one extra.

This is GOOD. Having people take supply without alarming them and getting rid of your overstock items as a store.

Yeah in America we have buy one get one sales all the time since like forever its called BOGO oldest gimmick in the book. That was of course before you people started getting all uppity about workers rights and other horseshittery and now the stores have to divk us around with prices :rolleyes:

They aught to make it straight up illegal what the mafia grocery stores are doing.


ME? I know how to hit up the Kroger Markdowns sometimes on a daily basis and eat super cheap and healthy.


Oh yeeah and for prepping for the corona meltdown I found this REALLY good brand of "kipper snacks" ( sardine fillets) that I'll have to post later.

I'd prefer to skip the Tuna because of the metals and having already been exposed in the past. Right now I'm working on not intaking any more and using Chlorella to help slowly Chelate my body naturally.

Often times with BOGO deals - the Original price gets changed to be higher so you're not actually saving money, just percieving it. - or not as much as you thought.

It's like raising the price on a food product by 20% and then saying * DEAL DEAL ** 15% off! Come and get it.

People are really dumb when it comes to grocery shopping sometimes, and I know that because I've worked at two of them before.

Right now my Kroger has Poland caught Sardines canned in water 10 for $10- Now THAT is a legit deal in todays world in my opinion.


Which as Asante mentioned is like an investment. Not only in food costs but for the potentially upcoming temporary Corona meltdown

No joke man. I've had multiple companies turn me down for selling me almost going bad produce for a discount price instead of trashing it and they LIED TO MY FACE saying " No, we donate this, we can't give it to you for less" which I know for a FACT that fruit went straight to the trash( because I worked there before)


I used to dumpster dive the produce all the time before they started putting locks on the bins. . It's a crying shame here in America just HOW MUCH food gets wasted.

Right now I'm working this 2nd job at this restaurant where people pay $20 a plate and only eat half of it :picard:


That could have been 20 cans of Sardines to feed to poor and hungry.

Or to like take to teh Corona Virus shelters . They are easy to transport and don't spoil.

Sardines are the bomb.
