Interview with Ripple 1

Today we sit down and relax in the pub to have a chitchat with what some would consider the "glue" that holds the pub together, the bringer of positive vibes and love to all shroomerites. In this interview Ripple tells us about growing up in the 70's, as a experimenter of drugs, and other stories of youth.
When did you first discover shroomery? What kept you coming back?
Well, like most people i came here to learn how to cultivate and keept coming back because of the dynamite people. That was in late 2001.
As a very positive person, did you help found The Pub?
Well, I was one of the people who were very outspoken about the need for another forum and ChromeCrow and I went to Thor and actually wanted the General Questions forum modified, but it was actually Thor who first came up with Cheers which evolved into the pub Wish i could claim credit for it though.
The Pub is stereotypically full of deadheads and hippies. It often drives the people of OTD to constant taunting such as the recent news that the popular jam band Phish broke up. What do you have to say to this negativity?
Well when it's good natured ribbing it really dosen't bother me but some people get a bit malicious and cross the line. Then i get a bit pissed
Who really pushes your buttons?
Pants is the only one who actually got to me bad.
Moving on. You are known as an older shroomery member, along with the recently deceased Mr.Mushrooms, the beloved Thor, and a few others. Care to tell us your age?
I'll be 46 on August 23rd.
What was your upbringing like?
my parents were great people, actually my mom is still alive. But they like most of their generation were clueless about drugs, So I was basically totally wild. Meeting my wife was most likely the thing that saved my life.
What were you like, as a teen in the what, 70's?
Yeah the 70's were a great time, and I basically spent them involved with dealing and taking every drug known to us back then and following the dead. I was never a hippy contrary to popular belief.
Whats the crazyiest drug experience you've had? What drugs were you on?
oh my god I could write a book! We had no idea what we were taking for the most part.
Pick one story to share with us :-)
Well, I would say that the very powerful acid available back then had a large impact on the person I am today, I started selling Window pane acid on the steps of my high school in the 10th grade, and would drop a hit or two and go to class, I had a bit of a bad experience one day on 1000 or so mcg's of LSD and the Dean of boys gave me some shit and I hit him with a chair several times.
Whoa, did you end up in jail?
No and to this day i have no idea how i got out of that one. Most of the decade is very blurry to me though.
Hah. Have you been involved in drug-induced orgies?
Actually, no i missed out on that
How did you meet your wife?
In the schoolyard, I pulled up blasting the dead and she came over and sat on my car. I knew i would marry her the first time i saw her. Thats awesome, how old were you?
17 or maybe 18 lol
How were you not a hippie if you were a follower of the dead and a drug user?
Well growing up in the Bronx on the streets dealing you had to be a bit ....well hard! We didn't have many hippies around.
Wow, from the bronx eh?
Born raised and still there
Do you still do any drugs?
Some weed, shrooms a few times a year.
Werd. We can expect your presence at the NE gathering?
it's looking good !
Nice! Well any last words for our fellow Shroomerites?
As always ....Shine on

It's nice to hear of Ripple a bit more. Thank you. He and ChromeCrow are the ones that led me to this site and I can't thank them enough.
