If you think a 1/4#'r at McDonald's is 100% beef because of a commercial...

If you can't do a job that barely contributes to society with any pride why should you make a living wage? Just because humanity or some shit. It would be nice to make everyone well off but this isn't utopia yet

I'm not taking it personally, but my mom worked her way through nursing school at mcDs and diners a long time ago. I don't know how the wages really compare, but my understanding is they were at least slightly better then, adjusted. Maybe college was just that much cheaper.

There's tongue and esophagus in the burgers I believe. Not exactly 100% ground meat (unless you consider organ to be meat, i personally think muscle is meat), but totally 100% beef.

I personally don't care either. I just think these types of nomenclature arguments get silly real fast, but it does make a difference. Of course those in marketing love it.

The truth lies somewhere between both of these. The people who cannot fend for themselves deserve dignity, but they DONT deserve as good of a life as the one providing FOR THEM.

I'm interesting in talking about this, if all parties feel comfortable discussing it.

In a society, your value is defined by what you bring to the table for others.
This is why people are payed differently, according the what they contribute.
I mean it's fine if you can't or won't contribute, you just cannot expect the same recognition as a doctor or an architect or something.

You have an inherent value that is not related to this. All humans have a base value that deserves at least dignity.
People vary wildly according to skill, intellect, physical strength, artistic creativity and many other things … To say everyone is equal is true on some level, but on another it's false. Everyone is different.

How to you evaluate peoples value? Do you?

Thats one definition. Being a productive citizen is not the only value a person has.

If you have a low rated job, or cannot hold a job, you should be able to make ends meet with what you receive.

ThAt's the foundation of society, not, to let people go homeless if they cant pay the dentist.

I just want to say I think Psion is on point with his perspective and comments. Technically I'm back below the poverty line again. Not my first time, but shit's gruesome down here. Working harder for less, and having the express privilege of constantly getting told or at least implicated that you are shit for doing so sucks. By the people who couldn't make the grades you did if they actually applied themselves in class while you slept during class because you had a 100. Funny life, really funny.

Meatloaf is sold at my local butcher. They have it in beef and ham varieties.

It is gross, but many seem to love it.

I would rather that money get donated to handicapped people. If you're completely able bodied but just totally apathetic to the point of being useless you shouldn't get any help.
There's plenty of people that can't even take burger flipping seriously for a few hours.
