The greatest song ever written by a man.

I call your attention to Tangled Up In Blue by Bob Dylan. It's a masterpiece of storytelling, a multi-textured aural painting. You never get tired of it, it never sounds the same twice.


Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century.
And every one of them words rang true
And glowed like burnin' coal
Pourin' off of every page
Like it was written in my soul from me to you,
Tangled up in blue.

Asking someone why they like "Tangled Up in Blue" is like asking someone why they like breathing. It's just there and it makes life continue and the world is a better place for it. You don't listen to a song like "Tangled Up in Blue", you feel it. Either it hits you or it doesn't. And if it does, you're blessed.

Totally agreed. One of my alltime favorites. Especially with Jerry singing it!  I saw Bob Dylan perform it a couple of years ago. I was blown away. Thank you for brightening my day- I will have to go pop it in the cd player now! :smile:

Yeah I like the Jerry Garcia version too. I must say that my favourite version is on the Bootleg Series vol 2, his voice is on top form. The version of Idiot Wind on that album is just as mind blowing.
