So I'm spreading mulch in my yard today and low and behold, a HUGE patch of shrooms is growin' right there! I picked them and decided i would post all the relevant info online to see if some experts could identify them. I will post as much info and pics as I can. If you know the shroom and ESPECIALLY if it is edible and has any psychoactive value, PLEASE tell me! Thanks a lot!
Here's the info...
Caps: Range from 1.1 to 3.5 cm in diameter Color: Light Brown/tan color (Some caps have rings of darker brown on them) Stems: Same color Found: May 23, 2004 Other Notes: Found these growing in 1-year-old mulch. There were A LOT of them growing in clusters. They were pretty small, they looked immature and possibly needed more moisture to continue to grow. These were found in central Connecticut, roughly 30 minutes from the capitol, Hartford. Most caps are smaller than a quarter.
Here are pictures:
a few caps...notice the darker brown rings on some of them
the bottom of a cap and its gills
more caps and stems
I'll have a sporeprint image as soon as I make one, but i've never made spore prints before so I don't know how well it will work.
