Yes, and yes, I know this is petty.

But while everyone is entitled to their own opinion...

...suppose someone's "opinion" is that everyone should be censored?

What would you then think of this person's opinion?

I rallied for the goatse smiley and it was added, then some weak-minded individuals complained and it was removed.

That's beyond "opinion", that's oppression.

So, I was just wondering who these people were.

No big deal or anything, just wanted to offer them my rating.

Censorship seems to take on a 'new' meaning on the internet. I hear this all the time, dude you can't tell us what to post and not what to post... ITS CENSORSHIP!!  :grin:

Ok, if you feel this way why don't you walk around in real life with pictures of goatsee on a t-shirt, or walk around the mall yelling 'nigger' as you do online.. (this is a general comment, not directed to you)

The answer is simple, you 'get away' with it here, not in real life... I don't see people running to city hall asking councelors to stop the censorship of the word nigger, or begging that we allow everyone to enjoy pictures of gaping assholes :wink:

I mean who are we kidding, the internet allows more freedom and personal expression than anything we've EVER seen.

Yet people get mad because they think everyone should either agree with them or do as they say.. Both are dangerous ways of thinking IMO.

Life is about understanding those around you, knowing them and knowing what is appropriate makes you a better person.

I say fuck censorship, but come on there are limits. What about streakers in public, are they being censored too? :wink:

Its all perspective, and online people seem to lose this perspective that we have in real life.

Your point is well taken Thor. However, my point remains that we are talking about a little animated smiley (not the real goatse), on the internet (as opposed to a shopping mall), and furthermore an illegal drug (for most of us) BB.

So, I conclude that if you get a bunch of magic mushroom eatin', and other drug usin' tripsters together and give them computers, and a website...

..they will begin to complain about certain cartoon animations.

Oddly enough, it's main purpose was to symbolize a stupid smiley, so its stupidity in itself has created its meaning and thus usefulness. Quite paradoxical :crazy:.

I propose a protest:

we should all just start putting the goatse greamlin at the bottom of all of our posts until people start catching on to the fact that they're either gonna have to give us our greamlin back, or they're just gonna have to put up with seeing it every single time any one of us makes a post...cause the way I see it - if people are gonna whine about something, then god damnit we better give em a reason to whine
