How I do my grain jars

I fill a 1qt Mason jar up 7 times with wild bird seed and dump into 5 gallon bucket. This will make 10 jars for me easy with extras for the neighborhood critters

Clean the WBS off in 5 gallon bucket, spray down with hose from sink using hot water, mix seeds around while filling up. Dump dirty water over strainer in sink, catching floaters and sunflowers. I repeat this 5 times, must rinse a few times extra if you get seeds from bottom half of bag. (They are always dirtier than the top half grains)

Count how many seconds it takes to completely submerge your 5 gallon bucket full off seed with the sink sprayer on full pressure

Grab pressure cooker bottom and fill up with water for the same amount of time it took to submerge grain in 5 gallon bucket with same water pressure. Put PC bottom with water on stovetop high heat. Once it gets about too hot to keep your finger in for a half a sec, drain them seeds for the 5th or 6th time and dump strained seeds directly into hot water on stove

Heat on high and occasionally stir until you start to see the water simmer. As soon as it starts to simmer turn off heat and strain into big colander

Clean out PC bottom, put on stove again with heat, put water in the bottom, prepping for a cook

Load strained, WBS into jars 3/4, maybe a tad bit more if you'd like. I load jars while grains are still hot, but not steaming. I load moist grains, but not wet. Everytime I put a lid on a jar i shake grains and burp it, relieving steam pressure

Load pc with jars and cook at 15 psi for 90min

This works for me. Grains move freely in jars np after cook

Check on C-list and FB market place for used "All American model 921" I picked up mine manufactured In the late 90's/ early 2000's for 50$, used maybe twice before I bought it. Always have some sort of lubrication present on metal to metal sealed PC. I rub a thin layer of cooking oil on lid and bottom before each cook

I prefer wild bird seed because it's cheap and it feeds the neighborhood critters even in the heart of the city. I feed birds, rabbits, squirrels and the groundhog under the porch. The crows will sense you are a good person and the birds won't shit on your car as much. Rabbits will sunbathe in your yard and will not fear you. Feed the local wildlife. Your floaters and sunflowers off ten jars can feed half the block for 2 days

Thanks for your opinions. You are free to prep grains as you please. Many lbs have been harvested this way. Grains come out clean np. jars come out little dirty initially but this is Dboogie's *DGK* grain tek hahah. Still produces the same as a shiny looking jar. Someone could always wash grain a few more times. Figured I'd share to save people time.

if you use wbs! soak for 12hrs rinse and rinse more!  simmer at 160! to soak up more water! at leat for a hr! then throw in jars! only if there is a 3/4 hole with a sfd! do not worry about draining ur wbs! the large hole and your sfd will give you enough  ge and enough evap for overlay wet grsins.
