no.  it's called "coleslaw" because cabbage is a cole-crop.  brassicas are also referred to as cole-crops.  cole-slaw could, in reality, also be broccoli salad ( if one knows how to make it right) or a combination of things like turnip and kohlrabi mixed with cabbage and/or broccoli.
