Shop around. Many to choose from. I just started driving an extra mile or so farther from a dispensary I usually go to, simply for a larger selection of better bud.

By better I mean good consistency and not all dried out from sitting in a plastic bottle for who knows how long.

I've had the opposite experience in many cases at least in Oregon, the bigger chain dispensaries tend to buy way more in bulk allowing them to have more quality cheaper strains available.

For example most dispensaries here now carry at least 2-3 strains in the 40-50$~ ounce range, but most of the smaller ones have mediocre strains in that price usually. While some bigger dispensaries will carry 5-10~ quality ounces in the 50$~ range.

One thing to keep in mind is the best deal strains tend to sell out ASAP, so it helps to call in regularly and ask what they have. Online listings are often old or inaccurate IME. And I've seen many new strains start out on the lowest shelf despite being great quality only to end up selling for 2-3x the price later.
