Way too much water. It's gonna hinder the formation of knots and primordia. That water needs to be evaporating off the sub. When you need to mist you just want to cover the surface with a gentle misting til it is glistening in the light. If you're seeing droplets form like this you are misting way too much.

I got caught up misting like this for my first tub and it took 18 days to start knotting. Now that I leave it alone until pretty much after first flush (dialed in) I see pins in 10 days.

I’d leave the lid off and let that dry up a bit.

Put a fan directly on the monotub till the droplets are a more appropriate size (don't dry it out completely this works quicker than you'd think). The combination of FAE and excess moisture evaporating sometimes will give you pins extremely rapidly.

Moving water is living water.
Stagnant water is dead water.

Fuck I got excited with the first mistings I guess. I'll leave it alone.

Wait... I did that for five minutes then ran to put the lid back on and just AIM the fan at the tubs, is that what you meant?

Fuck me...

You shouldnt have to mist a mono before first flush. If you do then you need to work on your monotub design or decrease airflow in your fruiting chamber/room.

The worst part is it looked fine before... I'm just being a patient, rather than having patience... lesson learned, and maybe I got off easy/quick. Fingers crossed.

I just leave the lid on and aim the fan at the polyfill or whatever you used as an intake.

And yeah those look like knots so be gentle with them.

Left the fan pointed at the tub in question for a good while, and the walls are dry AF, but the sub looks better. Now the fan is pointed in it's normal "indirect" position and I am going to chill the fuck out on the first flush from now on...

The tub conditions looked great already and it's only been ten days...

Sounds good. The moisture content should regulate itself now, mycelium tends to move it where it is needed. You shouldn't ever have to mist monotubs.

Dunking after a flush replenishes the lost moisture.
